01 · Our position

Intelligence that holds up in the field.

Technology earns its place when it respects the plant, the people and the operating reality. Fortis EI bridges each one.

02 · What we connect

One operating picture.

From baseline assessment to long-term support, we align evidence, engineering judgment and deployable technology around the decision that needs to be made.

01

See the actual condition

Establish a credible field baseline across assets, hazards, coverage and obsolescence.

02

Understand the exposure

Turn fragmented technical evidence into a clear view of risk, priority and consequence.

03

Design the right intervention

Qualify practical solutions against the operating environment, standards and lifecycle need.

04

Keep it working

Integrate, commission and support systems long after the first project milestone.

03 · Applied intelligence

From signal to confident action.

We work across the full decision chain: from sensing and detection to spatial verification, operational context and human response. The result is not more data. It is a clearer next move.

04 · Areas of focus

Engineered around the risk.

A focused portfolio for operators who need practical insight, accountable delivery and continuity from the plant floor to leadership.

01

Process safety & risk

Functional safety, hazard assessment and barrier insight grounded in the way the facility actually operates.

02

Detection & sensing

Field-proven gas, flame, environmental and condition-monitoring systems selected for the application.

03

Spatial intelligence

Evidence-led visualisation that makes coverage, exposure and change easier to understand and verify.

04

Lifecycle support

Integration, commissioning and support that keeps critical capability useful beyond handover.

Why Fortis EI

Technology is only useful when it survives the operating reality.

Fortis EI brings the perspective of the operator, the integrator and the long-term support partner. We understand the shutdown window, the approval chain, the field constraint and what happens after the system is handed over.

Process-safety expertise, not product-first selling
Technology qualified for the operating reality
Integration from assessment through commissioning
Long-term support after the system goes live
Intelligence in context

From field signal to operating decision.

Isolated devices create data. Connected context creates understanding. Fortis EI brings the physical plant, safety lifecycle and operating picture together.

01 · Field reality

Start with what is actually installed.

Coverage, device condition, geometry, obsolescence and operating constraints establish the real baseline.

What we solve

Three ways to make the operation clearer.

Every engagement starts by establishing which constraint is actually binding. Often it is not the one the enquiry came in about.

01 · Process safety

Prove what protects the plant.

Connect coverage, barriers and the safety lifecycle to evidence from the facility as it stands today.

02 · Multi-hazard operations

Bring every hazard into one picture.

Connect gas, fire, spill, flare, PPE and red-zone intelligence so the operating team can see what matters sooner.

03 · Industrial AI

Turn operating data into decisions.

Apply intelligence where it clarifies risk, prioritises action and helps experienced teams move with confidence.

Built for Qatar

Twenty years of field context, built into every decision.

Technology has changed. The fundamentals have not. Good systems still need to be specified around the facility, integrated around the operator and supported long after commissioning.

Positioning

We have sat on both sides of this table.

Most technology vendors arrive at a hydrocarbon facility with a product and a slide deck. Fortis EI arrives having run the other side of the transaction — signing the proposals, scheduling the shutdown windows, standing on the platform at commissioning, and answering for the system eighteen months later when it had to perform.

Sixteen of those years were spent as Country Head at Instrol Qatar, building an oil and gas systems-integration business across more than a hundred facility relationships. What has changed is what the technology can now do. What has not changed is how it should be specified, installed and supported.

Operator reality

The problems we were built for

Detector coverage nobody has re-checked since handover.

Plot plans change, equipment moves, and the coverage study in the design file stopped describing the plant years ago.

Obsolete field devices with no spares route.

Detectors and instruments past end-of-support, with the OEM gone and the replacement decision deferred another budget cycle.

A SIL revalidation date approaching.

IEC 61511 requires periodic verification, and the evidence needed to close it is spread across documents nobody owns.

An MOC backlog that has outgrown the process.

Changes approved faster than the safety documentation can absorb them, and a widening gap between design intent and the plant as it stands.

Emissions reporting that cannot be defended.

Estimated methane figures, an OGMP 2.0 reporting pathway to climb, and no empirical measurement underneath the number.

CAPEX pressure against a rising compliance load.

Every one of the above is real, and the budget to address all of them at once does not exist.

Every engagement starts by establishing which of these is actually the binding constraint. Often it is not the one the enquiry came in about.

Technology partners

We do not build all of this ourselves

Fortis EI represents, integrates and supports the technology below. Each partner was selected for one capability we could not credibly deliver another way — and each relationship is technical, not resale-only.

Sister company

Fortis EI implements. Barrier Intelligence verifies.

Barrier Intelligence is a separate company — a Qatar-based AI research and development business building a Spatial Safety OS for process safety. Its thesis is blunt: installed is not effective, and detector status is not safety status.

Verification should not be performed by the party with a commercial interest in the outcome of the installation. Keeping them distinct is deliberate. Where a facility wants both, Fortis EI integrates them. Where it wants one, it gets one.
